NOTD: Ariel

One of my favourite Disney movies has got to be The Little Mermaid. I saw @justagirlandhernails do an Ariel mani a while ago and knew I had to recreate it. I have eventually got round to it and I absolutely love them!

To begin as always I applied a base coat to all nails. Then on my thumb, ring and little finger I applied 1 coat of Barry M Cotton. On my index finger 2 coats of Barry M Passion Fruit and on my middle finger 2 coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Purpelling.

For the gradient I first applied Rainbow Connection Zap Skin Protector around my nails. Then I painted the polishes on a sponge as shown and applied to my nail until I was happy with the result. I used Barry M Mint Green, Green Berry and Kiwi.

Over the gradient I applied Seche Vite and allowed to completely dry ready to apply the vinyl. I used the Twinkled T Mermaid Stencils and applied as shown. Then I sponged over this with China Glaze Give Me The Green Light and carefully peeled away the vinyl.

To complete I added a Shell and Pearl stud from Born Pretty Store to my middle finger. Then finished it all off with a top coat of Seche Vite to all nails.

Happy Easter 2015!

Here are my easter nails for this year :)

I started with my base coat. Then on my thumb I painted 2 coats of Barry M Prickly Pear, on my index finger 2 coats of Barry M Mint Green, on my middle finger 2 coats of Barry M Peach Melba, on my ring finger 2 coats of Barry M Lemon Ice Cream and on my little finger 2 coats of Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream.

On my ring finger I created a chick in a shell. I used a dotting tool for all of this, I did the eyes using China Glaze Liquid Leather, the nose using Avon Coral Beat and for the shell China Glaze White On White.

For the other nails I stamped part of the pattern from MoYou Festive plate 22 using Konad White. Once stamped I then used a dotting tool to fill in some parts of the pattern using one of the colours from another nail.

I then finished it all off with a top coat of Seche Vite and that is the mani done!

31 Day Challenge 2014: Day 26 - Inspired by a Pattern

Love dogtooth nails so I decided to do the dogtooth pattern for this challenge day.

First I painted a base coat. Then on my thumb, index, middle and little finger I painted 2 coats of China Glaze White On White. On my ring finger I painted 2 coats of Barry M's Majesty.

On all the nails painted white I stamped this dogtooth pattern using Konad Black. The pattern was stamped from Bundle Monster plate BM-322.

On my index and ring finger I used sticky tape to separate each nail in half. I then painted over the nail using Barry M Mint Green and removed the tape carefully.
Once this was dry I used a dotting tool and Barry M Majesty again to go along the edge created by the tape.

I then painted a coat of Seche Vite on all nails apart from the ring finger, as Majesty is a texture polish, and that is the mani finished.

Only a few more manis to go and that will be the challenge finished! Seems like I have been doing it for ages now...
