31 Day Challenge 2014: Day 21 - Inspired By A Colour (Pink)

So as you can see, for this day of the challenge I have chosen pink for my colour inspiration. I chose pink because I don't do many pink manis, and also because the early days of this challenge didn't have a pink challenge day.

Firsly I painted my base coat. Then on my thumb and ring fingers I painted 2 coats of W7's White (in this picture I only did one coat, but after I painted another). On my index and little finger I painted 3 coats of Barry M's Princess, with the other Barry M texture polishes I usually only need 1 or 2 coats. And on my middle finger I painted 3 coats of Avon's Cotton Candy.

To create the chevrons I made my own stickers. To make them I have some PVC insulation tape and I used some pinking pattern scissors and cut some chevron strips. I then placed them on my nail in rows and sponged a gradient over the top. For the gradient I used Avon's Cotton Candy, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's Presto Pink and China Glaze's Heli-Yum. I then carefully peeled away the stickers using some tweezers.

And that is the finished mani :) very simple, love it! Definitely need to do more pink manis!

31 Day Challenge 2014: Day 20 - Water Marble

So I am officially giving up on water marble! Yesterday I tried to do it and it was a complete fail! I have told my mom and boyfriend that if I ever say I'm going to try it again then they need to slap me!
Lol rant over...

After applying my base coat I painted 2 coats of W7's White on my thumb, middle and ring finger. On my index and little finger I painted 2 coats of Barry M's Guava. Then on top of the white nails I painted a coat of Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure (new version).

On my thumb and ring finger I stamped this water marble stamp from Bundle Monster plate BM-320 using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's Teal-y Fast. Then I used a dotting tool and Barry M's Silver Foil to place some dots around the water marble pattern.
A complete cop out for water marble I know!!

Then on my middle finger I placed small clear diamantes on my nail to cover all of it. And on my index and little finger I painted a coat of Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure (old version).

A coat of Seche Vite to finish and that is the mani done :)

31 Day Challenge 2014: Day 19 - Galaxy

Actually did these on Friday, but had a busy weekend so only just managing to upload them today!

Firstly I painted 2 coats of W7's Black over a base coat.

I then used a small make-up sponge and sponged three different colours on my nail. First China Glaze Electric Beat, second Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's Teal-y Fast, then Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's Speedy Sunburst. Each time I placed a colour I overlapped some of the previous colours and I placed the colours in different places on each nail.

I then used a nail art brush and a dotting tool to add stars with W7's White. I dotted the small stars with the dotting tool. Then the diamond shape stars I painted using the brush. I first painted a cross then filled in a little. This was my first time painting these, I wish instead I had placed a dot of polish then dragged it out to create the star, but I will try that next time.

I applied a top coat of Seche Vite and that is the mani complete. For my first galaxy mani I think it's not too bad :)

31 Day Challenge 2014: Day 18 - Half Moon

Love half moon nails, very simple looking and not to difficult to do :)

I first applied 2 coats of Essie's Mademoiselle.

To create the half moon I use paper reinforcement rings. I cut them in half and place one at the cuticle of my nail. I then painted over with W7's Black and carefully peeled the sticker off. I did this on all my nails.

I used another of the ring stickers and placed it a little lower than the last one. I then used a dotting tool and Sally Hansen's Casting Call to paint carefully along between the black polish and the sticker. I did this on my middle and ring fingers.

I then painted a coat of China Glaze's Matte Magic on all nails.

And then used W7's Black to add a tip. To get a crisper line I first stamped with Konad plate m19 with their black special polish.
Then that is the mani finished :)

Love using the matte top coat, haven't used it for a while and I also love half moon manis so very happy with this! Feel like this challenge is never going to end though lol.

31 Day Challenge 2014: Day 17 - Glitter

Decided to keep this really simple :)

First I applied a base coat. Then I painted 2 coats of the amazing Barry M Guava. Probably one of my favourite polishes!

I have had some pots of glitter for ages and hadn't got round to using any on my nails yet. I know some people place them on so they are all neat. But I couldn't be bothered with that lol. So I painted a coat of clear polish and then I just dipped my nail into the glitter until it was covered.

I did the glitter on my thumb and ring finger and applied a coat of Seche Vite over it and that is the mani finished.
This picture is with flash, but it definitely looks more how it does in real life in the pictures above and at the top without flash. But even that doesn't do it justice.
