Pretty bows and polka dots :)

So I had ordered China Glaze's For Audrey a while ago, but they didn't have it in stock and I finally got it this week! I have wanted this colour for a while but just kept forgetting to get it so was so excited that I had to use it so here it is..!

So first I applied 2 coats of For Audrey, love this colour! :)

On my thumb nail I then used Barry M's silver foil for the tip, I used Konad plate m19 first and then applied more polish on top as this helps create and even line so it looks really neat.

On my index and little finger I used Cheeky plate CH8 from the vibrant collection and Konad's white special polish to do these polka dots.

On my middle finger I used Barry M's silver and this pretty bow on Cheeky plate CH1, at first I had only done the top silver bow but I then added the bottom bow with Konad's white special polish as I thought it looked odd with just the one.

On my ring finger I used Barry M's diamond glitter. To get the glitter coverage to look like this I had to use 3 coats, although I tried not to apply these too thickly as there was already a base coat and 2 coats of colour on my nail.

And here is the finished manicure with the top coat applied.

I hope you like this manicure :) see you for my next post.

Black Matte

So I recently bought China Glaze's Matte Magic and I have seen pictures of matte polish being used with black polish and then a shiny black tip so I thought I would try it, but also add in some stamping :)

Firstly I applied 2 coats of Barry M's Black. I have noticed that when I paint my nails I tend to paint on the cuticles as well and also get quite a lot around the edges on my skin. I tried to not do this with this manicure and I left a gap by my cuticle and I think it does look a lot neater so will always be doing this from now on.

I then applied a coat of the China Glaze Matte Magic, I think this looks so good with black, sort of looks like leather :)

I then used Cheeky plate CH16 from the Vibrant collection along with Barry M's Silver. I applied this pattern to my thumb and ring finger.

I then added a tip to each nail with the same Barry M Black that I used for the base colour. I think this looks really effective and of course is really simple. Love it! :)

See you for my next post :) and comment if you have any questions or anything to say!

Nail Polish Storage

So I have previously done a post showing how I store my nail things, and I didn't store my polishes very well so I am going to show you how I now store my nail polishes. I recently counted my polishes and was shocked to see I had over 70 polishes! So I thought it was time I started to store them better.

So this is how I used to store my things, in the polka dot folder is my nail plates which are stored in plastic trading card wallets with an anti-slip backing cut into them. I then stored everything else used to create nail art in the clear plastic folder, and in the brown zebra bag I stored my nail polishes (as I said, not a very good place to keep them).

So now I have put the nail art things from the clear folder into the zebra bag, along with some of the nail polishes that I don't use as much and the plates are still in the polka dot folder. My nail polishes are now stored in this stacked tier acrylic display that I bought from Ebay for just £16.29 (here). They look so pretty stored like this and of course look very neat and tidy!

I have also started to put swatches of my nail polishes on these nail art wheels, I got 10 for £3.99 again from Ebay (here).

So now I just need to fill up these wheels with even more polishes! And eventually I will buy another display stand for them all :)

See you for my next post!

Pink & Gold, Dots & Hearts :)

I like manicures where each nail has a different design on it, but because of the colours matching together it looks really good together so I thought I would do one. although there are 2 nails that are the same!

So I started off by applying my base coat, I use Barry M's All in one Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener. I then applied Barry M's Pink Flamingo to my thumb, middle and little finger, and applied Barry M's Matt White to my index and ring finger (next time I don't think I will need to apply the white, I was going to do something different to what I ended up doing).

On my thumb I used Konad's white polish and I used this really nice heart design on the Bundle Monster plate BM-317 (this is from the latest 2012 Bundle Monster collection). I smudged the design a bit when I put my top coat on :(

For my little finger I then used again Konad's white polish and this time used a copy of a Konad plate which I ordered from here (last time I posted this link the plates cost £1.35 each, but they now cost £1.41 each). I used the nice heart and lines pattern and then where the 2 sparkles are in the pattern I used a dotting tool to place some of W7's gold dazzle polish.

For my middle finger I used the same Konad white polish and used Cheeky plate CH6 (this is from their Vibrant collection). Then on my index and ring finger where the white polish was I applied 2 coats of W7's gold dazzle. As you can see the white polish is not visible, at 1st I was going to do 1 coat of the gold dazzle so you could still see the white polish, but the gold glitter looked so nice that I didn't do this. So next time I would simply just apply my base coat without applying any white polish first.

And here is the finished manicure with my China Glaze fast forward topcoat, I really like this one and I hope you do too :)

New Stuff!! :)

I am constantly looking on the internet for new stamping plates and nail polishes. As my collection isn't very big I thought I would order the Cheeky Vibrant Collection nail art plates (here) and the 3rd set of Bundle Monster nail art plates 2012 (here).

I also found a website for cheaper nail polishes (www.nailpolishdirect.co.uk), they do Barry M, W7, Models Own, China Glaze, OPI, Essie and others. They are all cheaper than I have found anywhere else from the UK. So I ordered some China Glaze polishes, as I only have a top coat from them and I love their colours, and some more Barry M and a W7.

I can't wait to build my collection even more! Although I now need to start saving money for moving into a new home with my boyfriend. But I will keep looking for the best bargains I can find!

So keep an eye out for a lot more different nail art designs coming soon :)

Purple flowers

So hopefully Spring will be on the way soon so what better than some flowers and a nice bright colour :)

I first applied a base coat, I use Barry M's all in one basecoat, topcoat and nail hardener. I then applied 2 coats of MUA's frozen yoghurt, it is a blueish purple colour, looks more purple under bright lights.

On the thumb and ring finger I then used this cute flower design on the Bundle Monster plate BM16 with Barry M's gold foil...

...and I filled in the dots in the flowers with Avon's violetta sparkle.

Then on the other fingers I applied a thin coat of Barry M's silver multi glitter. Barry M now have quite a big range of glitter varnishes that all look really good (here), I am definitely getting the gold mine colour next :)

I applied China Glaze fast forward top coat to finish the manicure.

Thanks for taking a look and remember if you have any questions or just want to comment then feel free to do so :)

See you for my next post.
